This one-day conference, a mainstay of the Israeli Torah landscape, is a joint initiative of Bar-Ilan University and the Jerusalem College of Technology. This year’s conference, planned in conjunction with Yeshiva University, will feature lectures (30 minutes in length) and shorter presentations (20 minutes in length) in both English and Hebrew, and will end with a special symposium on a controversial topic.
In line with Yeshiva University’s mantra of “Torah U’Maddah,” the conference illustrates how the synthesis between Torah scholarship and secular scholarship can heighten and enrich Judaism.
Lecture and presentation topics will include:
• Conflicts between Torah and Science
• Creation
• Cosmogenesis
• Evolution
• Divine Providence
• Critique of Biblical Criticism
• Historical Aspects
• Torah and Archaeology
• Technology in the Talmud
• Education in Torah and Science
