Monday feb 16th

Some 100,000 visitors are expected to participate in the 24th bi-annual International Book Fair at the Jerusalem International Conference Center (Binyanei Ha-uma), where over 800 publishers and writers from Israel and around the world will display their books.  From Monday to Thursday, Literary Encounters will take place at different times throughout the day in Teddy D. Hall.  The encounters will feature writers reading from their works, discussions between authors, and more.  The schedule of Literary Encounters is as follows:

 

Monday, February 16, 2009:
•      16.00 -17:00 Dieter Kuehn (Germany) reading from his book “Gertrud Kolmar; Life and Work, Time and Death”. German. Teddy Hall D
•      17.00 - 18:30 Thomas Sparr (Germany) and Orna Porath (Israel) reading from ''Ingeborg Bachmann – Paul Celan. Herzzeit. Correspondence/ Der Briefwechsel''. German. Teddy Hall D

 

Tuesday, February 17, 2009:

•      10:00-11:00 Israeli Buzz, moderated by Daisy Maryless (United States).  English. Teddy Hall D
•      11.30 – 13.00 ''The Law to Protect Writers and the Inherent Value of Books; in Israel?'' Panel session with writers and publishers from Israel and France to discuss the adoption of the ''French Fixed Book Price Law'' in Israel. In cooperation with the French Embassy and the Book Publishers Association of Israel.
