The Israel Festival is the largest and most important international arts and cultural festival in the country and it has chosen Jerusalem as its eternal home. The festival kicks off on May 24 with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra performing a Gala Opening Concert. The concert also serves as the finale of the Polish Year in Israel 2008/9.

Frederic Chopin – Concerto no. 1 in E minor for piano and orchestra
Approximately 2 hours, with intermission.
