The Israel Festival is the largest and most important international arts and cultural festival in the country, and it has chosen Jerusalem as its eternal home. In Ein Karem, the Eden-Tamir Music Center is commemorating the 200th anniversary of Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847) who pioneered the revival of Johann Sebastian Bach. On June 6 they'll hold a String Celebration, featuring Bach's Brandenburg concerto no. 3 in G major (BWV 1048), and Mendelssohn's String octet in E flat major, op. 20
