Valentine's Day is not a holiday oft associated with Jerusalem, but the city's Angelica Restaurant is hoping to change that with its fabulous six-course Valentine's Day special, to be served this Saturday night at the restaurant. The prix-fix menu, at a cost of 200 NIS a head, features Chef Erez Margi - who doubles as one of the restaurant's founding fathers, along with Marcus Greshkovitz – signature style including fish in a vinaigrette of green olives and oxtail ravioli with Porcini mushrooms.
Margi, who trained at Israel's Dan Hotel Chain, gained both experience and expertise while working at restaurants across the United States and in both Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem. Steak aficionados may recognize Margi's work from Emek Refaim's Buffalo Steakhouse, which he helped found.
On February 14th, Margi will be turning up the romance, creating inspiring dishes that are perfect for sharing with that special someone across the table. The restaurant will be upping the atmosphere, dimming its lighting and doing its best to create an intimate dining experience for its customers.
Despite the fact that the restaurant has dedicated its Saturday night to St. Valentine, Angelica is actually Kosher, so if you've been dreaming of celebrating the holiday of romance but dietary restrictions have thus far made it impossible, make a date at Angelica's this year.
