Given that 19th century Ukrainian-Russian playwright Nikolai Gogol spent some time taking in the sights in Palestine, it's fitting that one of his plays should appear in Jerusalem in Hebrew translation. The Khan Theater presents a faithful adaptation of the broadly comic play Marriage, the tale of a civil servant on the hunt for a bride he's not entirely sure he wants, and the matchmaker and the best friend who clumsily aid and abet him.
Comedy; in Hebrew.
