Holy Ground, by Algerian playwright Muhammad Kasimi, focuses on the residents of an unnamed Arab town under siege by an unnamed enemy (although certain parallels are of course unavoidable). Each are forced to contend with the harsh realities of war, as soldiers become part of everyday life and personalities and ideologies give way under the pressure.
