Haifa Theatre presents Sipur Pashut (A Simple Tale), a play based on the story by renowned Israeli author Shai Agnon. In this adaptation for the stage of one of Israeli literature's masterpieces, a youth falls in love with his relative, but the girl's mother, who is bound by tradition, opposes the relationship and turns to a matchmaker to find a more suitable husband for her daughter. The young man surrenders, but pays a price for his unrealized love... The story follows the youth's descent into madness alongside sharp criticism of the Jewish community in the diaspora.
